Self-proclaimed “brat pop” duo Holychild released their debut EP Mindspeak in March, and have been gaining steady traction since. Along the way they’ve put out a trilogy of music videos dissecting how the media treats women, and fine tuned their live set at SXSW. Here, they combine bubblegum hooks with an irreverent, infectious melody for a sound that is as sticky as it is sweet.
Finding balance between pop sensibilities and a feminist critical lens, Holychild have crafted an accessible record with sheen and substance, that dares listeners to dance, but also to think.
This is the EP’s first single, released through Glassnote Records, where their first full-length album is slated to drop next fall.
